Fall Revival 2026
Finding Equilibrium in Psalms
The Psalms are one of the most beloved sections of the Bible. They also form one of the deepest wells from which believers can draw.
It might be tempting to relegate the Psalms to moments in life when we need comfort. We might think rocking chairs, nursing homes, bedsides and even graveside’s. Indeed, the Psalms are helpful in those difficult moments for when comfort and encouragement are needed.
But the Psalms are so much more than mere comforting words. Some of the deepest most profound thoughts of God, and thoughts toward God are recorded in the Psalms. There is a reason that psalms are quoted more than any other Old Testament book in the New Testament. The Psalms are a hymnbook, a diary, a book of history, a prayerbook, theology, instruction, counsel, nature, apologetics, curses and even a book of leadership.
In a culture where right is called wrong and wrong is pronounced right. Good is evil and evil is good. Truth is false and lies are true. Light is dark and dark is light. Love is hate and hate is love. When everything that’s not nailed down is coming loose. (Even the things you thought were nailed down). When it often appears that normalcy no longer exists, it’s easy to lose our equilibrium.
One of the best places to turn when you need to restore equilibrium is the Psalms. Because in the Psalms, people of God , recall and express multiple moments of profound confusion, and loss of spiritual perception and it’s recovery. They take us by the hand and lead us through the bewilderment.
The Psalms are like a mother lode of gold. Together we want to explore and mine the depths of the rich veins of color found in the Psalms. Join us as we navigate the Psalms together and develop a whole new appreciation for the beauty and magnitude of the Psalms.
