Missions

In the great commission found in Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus commands that we are to go into all the world and teach the gospel. The church at Reno has helped accomplish this mission in several different areas around the world.

Ukraine Mission

We helped start and continue to support the church in Nikopol, Ukraine. The church of Christ in Nikopol started in 1999 with the conversion of Nina Dyomina in Minsk. Returning to Ukraine, her husband, Gregory soon became a Christian, and they met with a small group in her home.

Slavic and Katya Krishnyevskiy, graduates from a Sunset Bible college affiliate in Ukraine, were invited to come to Nikopol, Slavic is an energetic evangelist, and Katya is instrumental in the children’s ministries. Almost immediately, the church grew to about 30-40 members.

We received additional help as Vova and Marina Krivoraz, also graduates of the bible college, moved to Nikopol to escape from the war in Donetsk. During these last several years, Slavik has invited a Polish minister to visit several times a year and has helped considerably with evangelism and teaching.

Key Communications

We also support Key Communications. Key Communications is a ministry that provides a broadcast by medium wave radio into Southern Asia. It broadcasts and produces literature in the Urdu language. It also broadcasts worldwide via the internet.

They exist to provide people, particularly from a Muslim background, with enough information to make an intelligent decision about accepting Christ. They also want to help those who accept Christ form congregations and to equip those congregations so that they can replicate themselves.

Historically, their primary focus has been the country of Pakistan. However, they have been active in other countries, including Afghanistan and India. Through the internet, their reach now extends worldwide.
