The church Academy: The Best Option for a Christian School in Reno, NV

The church Academy started in 1979 as a ministry of the church at Reno. We have been located in the same building at 1205 N. McCarran Blvd since the beginning. Many students have attended the Academy, including members’ children and non-members. We welcome you to view our STATEMENT OF BELIEF to see if the church Academy would be a good fit for your child.

The benefit of having our school and church in the same building means you’ll have an efficient and convenient location for both worship and education. This means that your child will be surrounded by a familiar community as they see their Elders and Preachers during service and Bible classes and in the halls at school.

Because we have been operating for nearly 40 years, we have watched Reno grow and change. With growth comes more opportunities and we are excited to see our city prosper. With more young families moving to the area, we want people to have a choice when it comes to K-12 education.

A Christian school is a place where a student can get a quality education directed by the Bible. Christian education is beneficial for a multitude of reasons. The first being that parents who put their children in Christian school can be assured that they are learning Christian ideals. A family who practices Christianity together becomes a stronger unit.

Our tuition is economical compared to other Christian schools in Reno. We treat our students with great respect; they are not just another child pushed through the system. We trust them to make intelligent decisions as they learn the true difference between right and wrong thanks to daily Bible instruction. One of the biggest differences between a public and a Christian education is the foundational belief system. Instead of a humanistic, pagan perspective, students are taught scriptural, God-honoring morality.

Students who have attended the church Academy have had a great history of testing past their current grade level and our graduates have gone on to many major universities (including UNR and UNLV) with honors. We follow the Accelerated Christian Education (A.C.E) curriculum which is accredited and internationally taught. Graduating high school students are eligible for the state of Nevada's Millennium Scholarship and many other scholarships open to all graduating high school seniors in Nevada.

The church Academy serves as an extension of the Bible-believing Christian home and local church, working harmoniously with parents to achieve God’s purpose for their child. Students are taught to see life from God’s point of view, to take responsibility for their own learning, and to walk in Godly wisdom and character.

This mandate to parents is summed up in Deuteronomy 6:5-7.

“And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.”

At the church Academy, we read the Bible daily. We have chapel and Bible devotions daily. Students are expected and encouraged to hide God’s Word in their hearts through monthly memory verses in addition to the scripture in the curriculum. This kind of learning helps equip students to make positive changes in their lives, and the world around them. We hope we can enroll your student next.
